Every year we celebrate Easter with the people affected by Leprosy where we either cook and eat together after prayers and reflect on the death of Jesus Christ. However due to the COVID-19 and the lockdown, we were not able to do this in 2020.
So, on 31st March 2021 we decided to do something different to put smile on their faces with the limited funds we had.
The 80 adults in the Oji River Leprosy settlement, were given 10kg bag of rice each, which meant a lot to them. The joy on their faces said it all. Some testimonials were recorded.
For the children, on 1st April 2021, we bought school uniform, school shoes, school books, stationeries and gifts for 75 school children.
A memorable school party full of fun activities too place. This helped to unite the children affected by leprosy and children not affected by Leprosy. This was the first ever event for the children.
By the grace of God, this will be an annual event to break the stigma surrounding leprosy and embrace love.
A big thank you to all our sponsors.
